Without a Nest Aware account, you can still see what's happening in the room you place the Nest Hub Max into, as well as use it for Google Duo video callsand Face Match for up to six people. We can’t verify the claims yet, but, if accurate, the Nest Audio should be fairly impressive considering its sub-£100 price. This apparently makes it easier to place than the original Home, and the Nest Audio is easier to stand against walls, or on shallow surfaces, such as a windowsill in the kitchen. Both speakers require a mains connection to work, so you’ll still need to stand them near a power socket and won’t be able to use either outside.

Now we’re starting to see the fruits of that launch as Google announces Matter is coming to Google Nest devices, Android, and Google Home. The new history feed is the closest we’ve gotten to a meaningful improvement, and even that doesn’t solve actual complaints.
Potential buyers are faced with more complicated decisions, too. There might be a way to set this up, but you might be happier trying to find a used nest audio and hooking it up to a dumb speaker. Then you can set the display to play audio on that device and get the exact setup you're looking for. Yeah, at this point, me and the gf listen to music on a $50 bluetooth speaker.
This brings its sound experience closer to par with the Nest Audio, meaning it works well for music, podcasts, and other media. The Google Nest Hub has two far-field microphones and a full-range speaker, and multi-room audio capabilities. It sounds decent, but if music is your number one concern, you’ll probably want to go with one of the Max versions. The Google Nest Hub is rectangular, a little over 4.5 inches tall, and it has a 7-inch touchscreen display. When different devices are connected to the same network, data can be transferred easily between them. Devices with stereo speakers deliver sound from independent channels on both left and right sides, creating a richer sound and a better experience.
If you only care about things like smart home control, guided recipes, and getting news and weather updates, both displays offer the same functionality. They’re simply nicer with a bigger display and stronger speaker. Google also offers a wider overall selection of media partners to stream from, including services such as HBO Now, Deezer, Crackle and YouTube that aren't currently available on Portal devices. You can make video calls, too, though you're limited to using Google Duo. Now, about that display… A standout feature shared by the Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max is their stunningly gorgeous displays. Both Google devices have sensors that allow them to not only adjust brightness, but also fine-tune color temperature to match the ambient light in the room.
The second generation Nest Hub offers 50 per cent more bass than the original Nest Hub, so its sound should be closer to the Hub Max. Google's Nest devices are often considered the best smart home displays because of how well they integrate with people's daily lives. Google accounts are exceedingly popular and just about anyone who uses an Android smartphone has some amount of personal information tied up with Google.
